Jess has decided she wants to pursue photography. She called me before Christmas and asked if I could show her some trick of the trade. Early February, Jess and her family traveled to Dallas and I showed her everything I knew, in a very condensed version. I’m sure she was overwhelmed with all the information, but I have no doubt this girl can do whatever she sets her mind to. I’m so very proud of this young lady. Kolbi came just in time for Christmas! She was the best Christmas present ever!

And last but not least, my Mom and Dad! I love that they ask me to take their Christmas photos!

Lanny called me last Monday night and asked if I’d photograph his engagement to Allison on Friday night! I couldn’t contain my excitement. I had to keep this secret in ALL WEEK LONG. These two are amazing, and even more amazing when they’re together! I felt so blessed that I was able to be apart of their beginning…

There are photo shoots where everything just seems to go right. But just because you get the ‘perfect’ shots doesn’t mean it didn’t take time and work to get there. Sometimes we’re just not into it, and the last thing we want to do is smile…

So, hoping that adding two more people might make the situation a little better, you add some others in the mix…

Even though there are plenty of kisses to go around, some still aren’t getting into the groove. Then, when you least expect it, when you’ve already tried everything, and you’re just not sure you’re going to get that “perfect” shot. It happens…

This is the moment, the moment you worked so hard to get to and it’s beautiful, adorable, everyone is looking straight ahead, and you’ve captured the “perfect” moment.

That’s why I love what I do. Not only do I get to capture the “perfect” moments, but I get to capture the in between moments that brought us to the place of perfection.

It is very rare, but there are photo shoots that seem to be perfect. The stars align just right. This is one of those shoots. The day started out a little cool but warmed up just enough to be comfortable without a jacket. The sky stayed overcast, but let the blue peek out at just the right times. The couple is beautiful and in love!

I’ve known Thomas since he was a shy Kindergartener. That was almost 18 years ago! How time flies. Thomas has turned into a talented, God-loving man. When I met Kendra I knew she had to be special. Thomas only goes for the best, and he got WAY better. These two are so in love…

I’ve edited these photos in black & white because Kendra and Thomas are both photographers and I knew they’d get my style. These are all pretty serious and engagement-ish, I’ll post some others tomorrow!
